We as students at USC must have some kind of protection of our privacy no
matter in real life or on the internet.
Certainly there is the agreement that we should obey, nevertheless that
does not give UCS personnel the priviledge to read anyone’s emails as often
they like.
Obviously, UCS can also read emails between faculty members as well. Now
I don’t care what they do with faculty members’ privacy, I only care
about the privacy we students should have on the internet.
As for the current time, I am sure that there is absoultely no law to
limit UCS access to students’ account. That means any UCS personnel can read
any student’s emails with no limits at all!
If we have the law to protect our private life in the real world, why can
not we have the same law to protect our privacy on the internet, too?!
I completely agree with Marlo Patricia Tinney that we should set a law
to limit UCS personnel reading our own private emails! If they want to
read, fine, they have to go to Student Senate for approve. Otherwise,
they should be prosecuted.
Not only this should be expected in the near future at USC, but also we
college students at all the schools across this country should unite and
set this law for our own protection!
I am looking at study abroad programs in Spain, and I would appreciate
advice from anyone who has been on a program or is familiar with what the
programs have to offer.
I am looking for a program:
-where you can go for the fall semester (full year
participation is not required), and the fall program ends by Jan.1 (so I
can get back in time for winter quarter at Northwestern)
-where you don’t live with host families. I would
prefer living in an apartment with other students or a school dormitory
-where most interaction is with Spanish students. Most
of the classes are with actual students of the university, and not other
participants in the program
-in any location in Spain
Whether you had a great experiece or a horrible experience, I
would really appreciate some advice.
And if any Spaniards have advice about the universities in Spain, I
would appreciate that too.
Here are some programs I am looking at right now:
-Hamilton College at Instituto Internacional in Madrid
-Middlebury College in Madrid
-St Louis University in Madrid
-Colby College at University of Galamanca
-University of Minnesota at Toledo
-University of NC at Chapel Hill at University of Sevilla
-Rutgers University at University of Valencia
I have also heard great things about Salamanca, but I have no idea what
programs to look for there.
I would appreciate any advice!
